Job Summary
Provides classroom and laboratory instruction to students in Workforce Training and Continuing Educations welding programs.
Typical Job Functions
Provides instruction to students and develops related instructional materials as needed (such as syllabus, lectures, course materials, evaluation tools, classroom activities, and others)
Instructs and evaluates students in theory and laboratory
Designs challenging theory and lab exercises
Updates syllabi as required
Maintains student records
Attends meetings as requested
Maintains inventory and upkeep, and updates equipment as required and feasible to stay current to industry standards
Ability to work well with others
Self-starter
Ability to motivate others
Dependable
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
2-3 years of welding industry experience
Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesnt sponsor H-1B Visas)
Additional Desired Qualifications Successful completion of a post-secondary welding program Over 3 years of welding industry experience American Welding Society CWI/CWE preferred Teaching experience Bilingual (Spanish) ___________________________________________________________________________________ Physical Demands: Essential functions of this position require: manual dexterity, ability to communicate, lifting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, stooping, turning/twisting, balancing, reaching and handling with varying frequencies. Heavy work: Occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 75 pounds, Frequent lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 10-20 pounds. Onsite work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
Background Investigations: Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
