Requirements

• Licensure: Active AR or Compact RN license (required upon offer)
• Experience:
  • 3+ years of clinical NICU experience in Level III–IV
  • Level IV NICU experience must be clearly noted on submission packet
  • Level I–II experience not accepted
  • At least one prior travel assignment required
• Certifications (Required):
  • NRP
  • BLS
• Certifications (Preferred): NCC Neonatal ICU RN
• System Experience: Epic (required; must be noted on packet)
• Other Requirements:
  • Must pass nicotine test (no facial hair unless religious exemption – fit test required)
  • Must test negative for nicotine upon hire
  • Must pass facility fit test
  • Must be available for 2 of 3 holidays during assignment.

Patient Population & Procedures

• Population: Adults to geriatrics; micro-premies (23 weeks), VLBW, complications of prematurity
• Typical Diagnoses/Procedures: Dysrhythmias, CHF, acute stroke (non-TPA), ACS, myocardial ischemia, prematurity complications, general surgeries, chronic lung, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro, cleft lip/palate/mandible, PDA ligations, body cooling, transfers from Level II NICUs
• Ancillary Assistance: 1–2 PCTs per shift; Mil lab/tech nearby; advanced practice support present
• Respiratory/Anesthesia: Available for support; RTs manage ventilators
• Equipment: GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), IMV, Omni bed & Giraffe isolettes.
