RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in the 4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit on E4 - CVPC floor
• Manage 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds with 1:5 patient ratio
• Care for primary patient population including CV surgery and vascular surgery patients (open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, AAA procedures, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies)
• Handle overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block diagnoses
• Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management
• Work with various cardiac drips including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine
• Use Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts, and Cerner EMR system
• Must have stepdown experience and telemetry experience
• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience preferred within one year
• CVICU experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Float to any stepdown unit (1:5 ratios), medical surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
• Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) required per 6-week schedule period
• No call requirements
• Must be flexible to work holidays
• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Must be a team player who enjoys fast-paced environment and demonstrates flexibility
