DoD SkillBridge Eligibility: Has served at least 180 days on active duty Is within 12 months of separation or retirement Will receive an honorable discharge Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship Open Positions Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is searching for Software Engineers / Principal Software Engineers (multiple positions) to join the Global C2 Solutions Business Unit in support of our programs, in Huntsville, AL. These positions are 100% onsite in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses heavily on Java and Object Oriented development (not web development, etc.). We are open to interviewing candidates who do not yet hold a clearance, but who have the ability to obtain/maintain one. Basic Qualifications: Software Engineer level — 2 years with Bachelor’s in STEM or 1 year with Master’s Principal Software Engineer level — 5 years with Bachelor’s in STEM; 3 years with Master’s; 1 year with PhD Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain Secret Clearance Experience developing software using Java Experience developing software using C++ Experience developing software on Linux Experience managing source code using Git, GitHub, or GitLab Understanding of all phases of software development, and practical experience in an Agile/DevOps environment Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications as per DODI 1322.29 Qualifications that would be nice to have: Experience with Python, JavaFX, JavaScript, Bash, Perl, XML Experience with Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Jupyter Notebook Experience with OSGi, Google Guice, Unit testing, JUnit, Automated Testing Experience with Squish, Jenkins, DevOps Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible Experience with Jira and Confluence Experience with MIL-STD 6016 (L16), Modeling and Simulation, MBSE Experience with Blue Force Tracker (BFT), Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS), ADS-B Experience with Air & Missile Defense C2 programs such as IBCS, PATRIOT, SENTINEL, C2BMC or THAAD or any sensor/weapon system Security+ certification Location and role details: The roles are 100% onsite in Huntsville, AL and focus on software engineering in support of defense programs. Compensation and benefits: Primary Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00; Secondary Level Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00. Offers may include overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Eligible employees may receive Long Term Incentives; benefits include health and life insurance, savings plan, holidays, and PTO.
