About the Role

Albemarle is seeking an energetic, highly organized

to support the Washington, D.C. office of our U.S. External Affairs team. This position is not a traditional administrative role, it's a dynamic, trusted position that supports senior leadership while also providing the opportunity to engage in meaningful work across policy and government relations functions.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing professional with experience managing complex schedules, overseeing office operations, and supporting senior executives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. Prior experience on Capitol Hill or in a policy-facing organization is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Manage scheduling and calendar coordination for senior leadership, including internal and external meetings, events, and travel.

Serve as the primary point of contact for D.C. office operations, including vendor management, supplies, office logistics, and visitor coordination.

Assist with administrative processes such as purchase order requisitions, invoice tracking, and expense report preparation.

Provide day-to-day leadership support including drafting correspondence, preparing briefing materials, and managing internal requests.

Serve as a reliable team resource for coordinating cross-functional activities, supporting key policy and advocacy initiatives, and ensuring effective information flow.

Help plan and execute internal and external meetings, Hill visits, and special events in coordination with the broader External Affairs team.

Uphold a welcoming, professional office environment and foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience in executive-level support, scheduling, operations, or office management-preferably on Capitol Hill, political campaigns, at a federal agency, or at a policy-focused organization.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Familiarity with expense reporting, scheduling platforms, and procurement systems (experience with Concur or SAP is a plus).

Friendly, proactive attitude with a strong sense of discretion and professionalism.

Interest in politics, public policy, or government relations.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Who You Are

A trusted organizer who brings calm to busy calendars and confidence to executive operations.

A personable, mission-aligned team player with great instincts and high standards.
