Overview

The didgwálic Wellness Center is seeking a friendly and professional Security Guard to join our Transitional Living location in Laconner, WA. This essential role helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and staff. The ideal candidate is professional, courteous, and has strong customer service provided in a healthcare setting. A start date is projected for 10/20/2025.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor grounds, parking lots, buildings, security entryways and exits.
• Respond to alarms and contact law enforcement, fire department, or ambulance in emergencies.
• Interact with law enforcement when needed; provide information and clarification of events.
• Check doors and windows before and after business hours to ensure security.
• Investigate reports of suspicious activity on the property.
• Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
• Provide non-violent physical crisis intervention and de-escalation to mitigate extreme situations.
• Provide crowd control during increases in patients or visitors.
• Write incident reports on daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized personnel, and client concerns as needed.
• Operate different passenger vans over defined transportation routes and other company vehicles when transporting clients as necessary.
• Conduct and supervise urine and saliva drug screens and administer breathalyzers for clients of the same gender in accordance with procedures for substance abuse testing.
• Monitor for interference with drug tests and maintain confidentiality; record and process specimens with chain of custody.
• Assist and address client questions regarding drug, urinary, and breathalyzer screens; maintain inventory of testing supplies and request replenishment as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Manager.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Washington State Driver's license and eligibility for tribal insurance.
• 2+ years of experience as a security guard or relevant position; military experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, including conflict resolution.
• Basic computer skills and experience with MS Office products.
• Good physical condition to respond to security and safety concerns; standing or walking is frequent.
• Ability to complete First Aid and CPR certification within the first 60 days of employment.
• Ability to pass extensive criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Tribal affiliation is a plus.

Schedule

• 1330 - 2330 or 2100 - 0700 patterns with alternating weekends off; 10-hour shifts available
• 1330 - 2330 or 1900 - 0700 or 1930 - 0730 patterns with alternating weekends; 12-hour shifts available
