Overview

The Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors so that all callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately. The Receptionist performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments. The receptionist operates a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintains long distance call logs. Takes and distributes accurate messages. Greets visitors and determines the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintains visitor logs, alerts appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee. Responds to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as the organization’ s location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and/or email address. Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintain long distance call logs. Take and distribute accurate messages.
  • Greet visitors, determine the nature of their visit, issue visitor passes and maintain visitor logs, alert appropriate party of visitor arrival or direct visitors to the appropriate office, department or employee.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources (organization location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and/or email address).
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, and receiving/sending courier packages.
  • Work within defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities, and timing under supervision and established policies/practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year or more of experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but candidates with strong customer service backgrounds in retail, hospitality, call centers, etc. will be considered.
  • MUST be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and care
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Value-based care model experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records)

Additional Information

  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
  • Pay Range: $38,000 - $45,800 per year. The compensation range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment at the time of posting and may vary by location and by demonstrated skills/experience.
