LHH is partnering with a fast-scaling startup client based in San Jose, CA to recruit a Product Marketing Manager to join their team as a strategic GTM and positioning strategist. In this role, you will work directly with senior leadership and the founding staff to define go-to-market strategy and positioning by developing subject matter expertise in the niche world of their products and curating marketing experiences that reflect and represent the brand. As this is an earlier stage organization with a growing marketing department, you will have reach into broader marketing strategy and serve as a messaging expert. You will work closely with marketing and sales teams to align strategy, but will vacillate between both strategic and tactical campaign initiatives. Deep technical knowledge is required, with a preference for AI product exposure. 5+ years of experience in product marketing, positioning and GTM strategy in a scaling, startup technology environment are expected. Former founders or strategic marketers with relevant startup positioning experience are encouraged to apply.

You will be getting in the door at an excellent time in the organization''s growth; the team is well-funded and in a growth phase. This is a permanent, salaried opportunity and will be primarily onsite in the San Jose, CA area. Opportunities for equity abound, along with highly competitive compensation ranging from $180,000 to $235,000 annually base salary, 401(K), flex PTO, low-cost medical coverage and additional unique perks.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with executive leadership and founding staff to define GTM strategy and product positioning through strategic and tactical planning and execution of marketing campaigns, initiatives, content and more
  • Own go-to-market planning and strategy for the overall product suite, guiding the launch of new products, features and upgrades
  • Maintain product and market expertise, developing and evolving a knowledge base of relevant competitors and the general landscape for this product
  • Enable sales teams with collateral, content, research and other materials to close new business
  • Collaborate with marketing staff and leadership to curate integrated campaigns that align with overall GTM and positioning strategy

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of marketing, GTM and product positioning experience in the startup technology space. Dedicated experience as a Product Marketing Manager preferred, but open to other relevant startup marketing roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering or a related field
  • Experience in a high-growth startup technology environment; experience working with AI products preferred
  • Expertise in customer and market research with the ability to become a product expert
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of proficiency in marketing technology
