Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to encourage customer return visits.
  • Treat customers and employees with fairness and ethical conduct, promoting an inclusive work environment.
  • Provide the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing; demonstrate the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customers’ requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and inform them of coffee shop specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size and ensure product quality and freshness by checking sell-by dates.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to customers to meet their needs and preferences.
  • Use equipment in the coffee shop (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) according to guidelines; label, stock and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
  • Care for and maintain kitchen equipment, and report any maintenance needs to management.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults as required.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflict in a constructive manner.
  • Follow directions, seek assistance when needed, and adhere to safety procedures and food safety regulations.
  • Report safety risks, accidents, or illegal activity to store management.
  • Respect consumer privacy and act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Excellent customer service skills.
  • Desired: Any previous comparable experience.
  • Ability to work in a welcoming environment, answer questions about products, and maintain knowledge of products.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
