Position Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and school finance requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor budgets, track expenditures, and provide accurate financial reporting to school leadership.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and charter school financial regulations.
• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with school leaders and staff to support financial decision-making.
• Identify discrepancies or concerns and proactively ask questions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience in school finance or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and best practices in school accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills.
• Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
