Overview

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Provides chair-side assistance to dental providers in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, pediatric and periodontic treatment as provided in general dentistry. Has clinic maintenance and record keeping duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance to dental providers in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, pediatric and periodontic treatment as provided in general dentistry.
• Maintain clinic maintenance and record keeping duties.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed an Accredited Dental Assisting Course or 1 year of Dental Assisting experience.
• Dental Assistant National Board Certified (CDA) preferred, but not required.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and medical/dental terminology.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Must be able to complete Indian Health Service (his) x-ray competency evaluation.
• Must be able to provide age-specific care to patients of all ages.
• Must pay attention to detail and assume responsibility for tasks assigned.
