Position Summary We are seeking an experienced
Maintenance Specialist
to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical and electrical systems within a high-production foundry environment. The Maintenance Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of molding, melt, core, finishing, and support equipment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain power/control circuits, AC/DC motors, VFDs, and transformers, applying NEC requirements. Bend and install conduit, wire motors and generators, and maintain lighting/power circuits; interpret and layout from blueprints. Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems; perform electronic control installations and repairs. Rebuild and fabricate parts; perform welding (oxy-acetylene/arc); fabricate and install piping. Service hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, shot-blast equipment, cranes/hoists, furnaces, grinders, molding machines, vehicles, and building/grounds systems. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, lubrication, daily check sheets, and create work orders. Collaborate with other crafts and contractors, support the training of maintenance trainees, and maintain safety procedures and housekeeping standards. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical disciplines preferred. Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing, foundry, or a similar environment. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including NEC knowledge, PLC basics, and hydraulics/pneumatics. Ability to read blueprints and schematics and work independently in a fast-paced production setting. Must not be color blind (ability to distinguish wire colors is essential). Skills & Attributes Expertise in equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Excellent technical aptitude and attention to detail. Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus.
