A leading civil litigation firm is seeking a motivated and experienced litigation attorney to join its growing team. This role focuses on the strategic defense of complex general liability matters, including trucking, cargo loss, auto accidents, and premises liability claims. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of courtroom confidence, analytical precision, and strong client communication skills to a dynamic litigation practice.
Key Responsibilities: Case Strategy & Litigation Management: Develop and execute case strategies across a range of liability matters, managing all phases from inception through resolution. Courtroom & Mediation Advocacy: Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials at both the state and federal levels.
Legal Research & Writing: Draft and revise motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and legal memoranda to support defense strategy.
Discovery & Evidence Preparation: Conduct depositions, oversee discovery processes, and collaborate with expert witnesses to build strong cases.
Coverage & Risk Assessment: Candidates with insurance coverage experience, including policy interpretation and litigation of coverage disputes, will be given special consideration. Client Counseling: Provide legal advice on litigation risks, case developments, and compliance obligations, while fostering strong, ongoing client relationships.
Qualifications: Experience: 3–6 years of litigation experience, particularly in trucking, cargo loss, auto accidents, and premises liability. Federal court litigation experience strongly preferred. Insurance coverage background is a plus.
Skills: Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proven oral and written advocacy, including experience with motions, depositions, and trial preparation.
Education & Licensure: Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Georgia and in good standing. Admission to federal court, or eligibility for admission, is preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), Westlaw, and legal time-billing software.
