Material Planner
Pay Rate: 25-28 per hour
Holland MI on site
1 year contract
Manage the inbound movement of materials from suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels. Collaborate with purchasing, production, master scheduling, customer service and engineering teams to coordinate material requirements and resolve any supply chain disruptions.
Responsibilities: • Manage Inventory: Manage inventory levels for assigned parts or materials, ensuring availability to meet production demands while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. • Support Production Scheduling and End Customer: Support production scheduling and end customers by managing the flow of incoming material and identifying and communicating potential bottlenecks in supply. • Resolve Material Shortages: Resolve material shortages by exhausting all options such as substitutes, partial shipments to avoid additional cost including break in fees and expidites. • Utilize Material Planning Systems: Learn and utilize Haworth's material planning systems and tools to plan and track inventory, generate reports, and support decision-making. • Participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Participate in supply chain continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce waste and enhance efficiency. • Analyze Supply Chain Data: Analyze supply chain data related to planning, inventory, and production to identify trends and support decision-making.
Education: • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent OR Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
