Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and process-driven
Production & Maintenance Engineer
to oversee maintenance operations, drive production efficiencies, reduce scrap, and lead continuous process improvement initiatives. This role will bridge technical expertise with hands-on leadership, ensuring maximum uptime, quality, and efficiency across our production lines. The Engineer will directly supervise the Maintenance Technician while also serving as the point of accountability for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization. As part of an

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership Lead and manage the maintenance function, with the Maintenance Technician reporting directly to you. Establish and enforce preventative maintenance schedules for all production equipment. Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting, repairs, and system optimization. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all maintenance activities. Production Efficiencies & Scrap Reduction Identify and implement strategies to reduce scrap rates and improve yield. Analyze production processes to detect inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Develop, test, and implement solutions to improve throughput and uptime. Partner with the Production Manager to align engineering solutions with operational goals. Process Improvement Lead continuous improvement projects focused on equipment performance, workflow, and energy/resource efficiency. Standardize best practices and documentation across production and maintenance. Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance quality, reduce downtime, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Leadership & Reporting Mentor and develop the Maintenance Technician. Act as the technical liaison between maintenance, production, and leadership teams. Track and report on key performance metrics (downtime, scrap, efficiency gains, etc.).
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3–5+ years of experience in production engineering, manufacturing maintenance, or process improvement. Proven track record of driving efficiency and scrap reduction in a production environment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred: Experience in food/beverage packaging, printing, or related high-speed manufacturing industries. Familiarity with Siemens PLCs, industrial automation systems, or UV curing processes. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
