About the Role

Insight Global is hiring a Dry Etch Equipment Technician to support a leading semiconductor manufacturer in Austin. This role is critical to maintaining and optimizing Dry Etch tools in a high-volume wafer fabrication environment. You’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge equipment, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

Perform daily tool checks, breakdown maintenance, and scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and repair hardware and process failures on Dry Etch tools including:

AMAT (DPSII, DPS, MxP, MxP+, IPS, Super E, 5200 series) LAM (4400, Coronus) Ulvac, Gasonics, Fusion Gemini Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection (FDC) software to monitor tool performance and diagnose issues. Conduct electrical and mechanical diagnostics, adjustments, repairs, and calibrations per schematics and manuals. Document maintenance activities and contribute to improving standardized work procedures. Maintain spare parts inventory and support equipment upgrades and long-down troubleshooting. Collaborate with Process Technicians on wafer recoveries and post-maintenance qualifications. Coordinate equipment downtime with Manufacturing Leads.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in engineering or science discipline (or 7+ years of semiconductor experience in lieu of degree). 5+ years of Dry Etch semiconductor experience. Strong background in electronics, equipment troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse team environment with minimal supervision. Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
