We recently moved to a new facility in Aurora, CO. There are multiple production areas in the factory, including a metal fabrication shop, trailer and van manufacturing flow lines, specialty vehicle build stations, safety product lines, and an in-house tent shop. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Level 1 - Material Handler I Receiving & Stocking Unload incoming deliveries, verify packing lists against purchase orders, and record any discrepancies in the ERP system. Place materials in designated warehouse locations following FIFO or similar protocols. Assist in basic labeling and bin transfers, ensuring items are stored safely and logically. Order Picking & Kitting Pull and prepare, and issue materials, parts, and components for production based on pick lists and work orders. Safely operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) under supervision. Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate records of all material movements. Communicate shortages or damaged items to supervisors promptly. Level 2 - Material Handler II Advanced Warehouse Coordination Coordinate with product line specialists to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and forecasts. Organize and maintain warehouse layout to optimize space utilization and reduce travel time for pick paths. Proactively identify potential stock-outs or bottlenecks and recommend solutions to management. Inventory Accuracy & Cycle Counts Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain high accuracy levels. Investigate discrepancies by tracing transactions in the ERP system and propose corrective actions. Equipment Operation & Safety Competently operate forklifts or other powered industrial trucks (certification may be required). Enforce safety rules, inspect equipment daily, and escalate maintenance issues as needed. Team Mentorship & Improvement Projects Train and guide Level 1 Material Handlers on best practices and SOPs. Participate in or lead small improvement projects (e.g., 5S, Lean initiatives) to streamline warehouse processes. Level 3 - Senior Material Handler Strategic Warehouse Management Develop and implement material flow strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and support production needs. Oversee warehouse organization, implementing advanced systems (barcode scanners, Warehouse Management System upgrades) for real-time tracking. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, and Quality teams to forecast demand, plan replenishments, and manage inventory levels. Act as a liaison with logistics or purchasing teams to ensure seamless inbound/outbound material flow.

Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze inventory data (e.g., turnover rates, usage trends) to forecast future requirements and minimize stock-outs. Generate KPIs (e.g., inventory accuracy, pick rate) for management review and propose data-driven improvements. Leadership & Mentorship Lead and mentor all levels of material handlers, providing advanced training and conflict resolution. Assist or manage warehouse shifts, assigning tasks, and ensuring accountability for overall performance. Technical Skills : Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, proficiency in operating material handling equipment, and basic computer use.
