Die Design Engineer
We're looking for a highly skilled
Forging Die Designer
with over five years of experience in the design of forging dies, specifically within the
closed die forging
industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of forging processes and the ability to create innovative and robust die designs that meet stringent quality and production requirements. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams.
Responsibilities
Design and develop forging dies for a wide range of parts and materials using CAD software.
Work closely with process engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Perform feasibility studies and simulations to validate die designs and predict material flow and forging defects.
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of forging dies, tooling, and fixtures.
Analyze and interpret customer specifications, blueprints, and technical data to create accurate die designs.
Manage the entire die design lifecycle, from initial concept to final production implementation.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to die performance and longevity.
Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and advanced design techniques.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience
in forging die design, with a strong focus on closed die forging.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software
such as
SolidWorks
or
CREO
is required.
Extensive knowledge of forging principles, material properties, and heat treatment processes.
Experience with forging simulation software (e.g., DEFORM, QForm) is a significant plus.
Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling requirements.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is .
