Title : Deputy Chief Financial Officer

Location : Near West Chicago, IL

Hire Type : Direct Hire

Salary : $200k-$250k/yr.

Benefits : Insurance ( Health, Medical, Dental), PTO, Paid Holidays and More Sterling Engineering has partnered with a massive, government-funded client looking to bring in a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to revolutionize and transform their finance and accounting team. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to make a substantial impact on a well-established organization, helping to shape its future and drive success. Job Duties :

Support the CFO in leading business support functions, developing strategies, and executing efficient financial and procurement services in compliance with contract requirements. Oversee internal controls over financial and procurement information, process improvements, and workforce development. Align field financial teams with the Office of the CFO to ensure oversight, compliance, and risk mitigation. Drive consistent application of financial and procurement policies, while cultivating a customer-focused and diverse workforce. Monitor changes to laws, regulations, and DOE orders, implementing updates as appropriate. Lead assigned projects or programs; represent the Finance Section and/or Laboratory on committees and external groups. Manage Finance Section deliverables, safety, and quality programs. Advise Laboratory management on policies and actions to meet goals and regulatory requirements. Provide leadership, including hiring, performance reviews, training, and workforce planning. Assume CFO responsibilities in his/her absence. Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of management experience in business and/or financial operations. Direct experience applying and managing

regulations in a federal contracting environment. Knowledge of federal contracting rules, budgeting, funding mechanisms, and DOE regulations. Strong leadership, organizational, planning, and management skills. Expertise in systems integration, financial analysis, and forecasting. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills for complex issues. Results-driven with attention to detail.
