What You'll Do
As an Accounting Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include: Processing and balancing batch files (ACH, check clearing, bill payments)
Posting general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations
Managing accounts payable functions
Handling staff and member requests with accuracy and care
Supporting and covering other Accounting & Finance team members as needed
You'll also help maintain smooth financial operations through: Accurate balancing and reconciling of transactions
Timely and correct processing of ACH, EFTs, remote deposits, and check clearing
Collaborating across departments to resolve discrepancies
Assisting with audits, reporting, fraud prevention, and process improvements
What We're Looking For
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong attention to detail Effective problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Good verbal and written communication skills Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required) Associates degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
or
2+ years of related experience (preferred) Experience in a credit union or bank (preferred) Experience with Symitar (helpful) Must be able to work
