About the Role: The Logistics and Shipping Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of durable goods from manufacturing facilities to customers and distribution centers. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics operations, including shipping schedules, inventory management, and transportation coordination. The role requires close collaboration with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to optimize supply chain processes and meet delivery commitments. The Logistics and Shipping Lead will implement best practices to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Ultimately, this position ensures that products are delivered accurately and on time, supporting the company’s reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience managing shipping operations and coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, shipping documentation, and inventory control. Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline. Experience with durable goods manufacturing logistics and supply chain processes. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP). Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment. Responsibilities: Manage daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to align inventory availability with shipping schedules. Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and freight providers to negotiate rates and service levels. Monitor transportation costs and implement strategies to optimize logistics expenses. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in shipping processes. Lead and train logistics staff to maintain high performance and adherence to company policies. Analyze logistics data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend process improvements. Collaborate with customer service to resolve shipping issues and improve customer satisfaction. Skills: The required skills enable the Logistics and Shipping Lead to effectively coordinate complex shipping schedules and manage inventory levels to meet production and customer demands. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for collaborating with internal teams and external carriers to ensure smooth logistics operations. Analytical skills are used daily to interpret shipping data, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements that reduce costs and enhance delivery performance. Proficiency with logistics software and technology supports accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Preferred skills such as leadership and familiarity with advanced supply chain systems further empower the lead to drive team performance and optimize the overall supply chain within the durable goods manufacturing context.
