Design and develop new products as well as modify and support existing products within our Healthcare Solutions Group. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and design new products and modify and improve existing products within budgetary constraints and customer requirements, and with consideration of a life cycle perspective for the product Develop robust CAD models with the appropriate level of detail to support different milestones including early prototypes and production-intent designs. Familiarity with injection molding/plastics, silicone rubber keypads, and electronics manufacturing processes is required as it is used on a daily basis. Specify materials reusing prior art whenever possible or applying critical evaluation techniques when introducing something new. Assist Grayhill manufacturing with early build support. Partner in the core APQP processes including FMEAs, control plans, and process flow charting. Actively support the product validation process by developing test setups and assisting with testing as appropriate. Create 2D CAD drawings to exchange with suppliers releasing into the Grayhill ECN process when appropriate. Provide early project support with timely reviews and 8D analysis to close any gaps early in the product lifecycle. Requisition parts, supplies, services and tooling as needed. Support Grayhill sales and operations with new product proposals and existing product support as directed. Interface with customers as necessary to clarify design objectives on projects and communicate updates to Sales Department Recommend suppliers and/or other outside sources for technical information as needed to meet design objectives and communicate information to Purchasing Department Accept or reject parts, assemblies and/or tooling Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of two years of directly related experience or five years of general engineering experience. Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with PTC Creo solid modeling / Intralink environment Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop detailed design documents Strong understanding molded part design Electronics aptitude - basic knowledge of LEDs, connectors, and switches. Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
