Ultimate Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Processor to support payroll operations for a client in Manchester, CT. This part-time role is ideal for a payroll professional with a strong background in union payroll, commission-based compensation, and complex pay structures including shift differentials and driver commissions. The position supports payroll for approximately 300 employees and offers flexible scheduling options. The annual would be approx. 33K or $27/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly payroll for ~300 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Manage union payroll requirements, including tracking incremental increases, dues, and benefit contributions in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. Calculate and process sales commissions, driver commissions, and shift differentials. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay or deductions. Collaborate with HR and department managers to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll data. Reconcile payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and taxes. Prepare payroll reports for internal use and external audits. Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, union contracts, and company policies. Assist with year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution.

Qualifications:

3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid-sized company (200-500 employees). Proven experience with union payroll and interpreting collective bargaining agreements. Strong understanding of commission structures, shift differentials, and multi-state payroll is a plus. Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms). High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
