Seat King LLC is seeking an experienced
Mechanical Product Design Engineer
to join our team in designing and engineering seating systems that combine ergonomic comfort, durability, and visual appeal. This role focuses on creating
physical chair components and assemblies —not digital or software-based user interfaces.
You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to transform product concepts into manufacturable solutions that serve real-world needs in rugged environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about hands-on product development, excels in CAD design, and brings a practical approach to engineering for manufacturability.
What You'll Do:
Lead the design and development of
OEM seating products
that prioritize ergonomic comfort, safety, and durability, ensuring optimal vibration dampening, load support, and operator comfort for end users in agriculture, turf, and construction industries.
Apply
ergonomic and human factors engineering principles
to ensure seat designs accommodate a wide range of operator body types, reduce fatigue, and enhance usability in high-vibration, off-road environments.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate
real-world user experience
insights into seat product refinement.
Integrate suspension systems into seat assemblies in a way that enhances
ergonomics, stability, and safety
without compromising manufacturability or aesthetic design.
Use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and vibration analysis tools to model and evaluate
load paths, stress points, and energy absorption
behavior under real-world operating conditions. Ensure all seat designs comply with
industry standards
for ergonomics and safety, including International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Design adjustable seating features (e.g., lumbar support, seat height, backrest angle) that allow users to
personalize their seating position
for maximum comfort and performance.
Oversee and participate in prototype evaluations to test for
ergonomic performance , comfort, and operator interaction, using both internal assessments and field feedback.
Conduct engineering analysis and modeling to confirm ergonomic effectiveness and structural performance under normal and extreme conditions.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; coursework or experience in
human factors engineering
or ergonomics is a plus.
5+ years of mechanical product design experience— experience designing ergonomic seating, interiors, or operator-focused equipment
is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to integrate
ergonomic best practices
into product development, balancing comfort, function, cost, and manufacturability.
Experience designing for
ride quality and vibration isolation , especially in environments with high shock loads and continuous operation. Strong understanding of
anthropometric data, user posture dynamics , and how they translate into seat structure, cushioning, and adjustability features.
Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for modeling physical seating components that meet ergonomic and mechanical performance requirements.
Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the final product delivers both
technical performance and operator comfort .
Familiarity with testing methods and standards used to evaluate
ergonomic design and vibration exposure
in industrial seating applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of
load paths, fatigue, and material performance
