About The Position

We are seeking a licensed Optometrist for a 130-day locum tenens assignment at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Maine. This opportunity begins on Nov 3, 2025, and involves working Tuesday to Friday with 9-hour days. The role is centered around providing comprehensive eye care within the Optometry department, enhancing the visual health of a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities and Duties Conduct comprehensive eye exams to assess patients' visual acuity and health Prescribe corrective lenses and provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery Diagnose and treat various eye diseases and vision problems Educate patients on eye health, including preventive care and treatments Utilize Athenahealth EMR system for documenting patient care and managing records Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care

Additional Information Board certification in Optometry required Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications needed Must be licensed to practice in Maine New graduates who are board-certified are encouraged to apply
