Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Pastry Chef to lead our pastry program in Albany, NY. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for crafting high-quality desserts, baked goods, and specialty pastries that align with our brand and delight our guests. This role involves recipe development, kitchen leadership, and hands-on execution, requiring both artistic flair and strong technical skills. Key Responsibilities

Design, prepare, and present a wide variety of desserts, pastries, breads, and specialty baked goods. Develop new menu items and seasonal offerings that align with customer preferences and business goals. Ensure consistent quality, portion control, and presentation of all pastry products. Oversee daily production schedules and manage inventory of ingredients and baking supplies. Train and supervise pastry assistants and other kitchen staff as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. Monitor food cost, minimize waste, and contribute to overall kitchen efficiency. Collaborate with chefs, management, and event staff for catering, holiday menus, and special events. Qualifications

Degree or certification in Baking & Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a professional pastry or baking environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role. Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques. Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality products. Ability to manage time and prioritize in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work standing for long periods. Familiarity with food safety regulations (ServSafe certification a must). Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range:
