LVI Associates is seeking a highly skilled and design-oriented Structural CAD & BIM Technician on behalf of a structural engineering firm. This role is centered around delivering technically precise and architecturally integrated documentation for a wide range of building projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the engineering team through the development of detailed Revit and AutoCAD models, ensuring that every project meets the highest standards of quality, coordination, and design excellence. From custom residential homes to complex commercial structures, your work will help bring visionary architecture to life through thoughtful and accurate structural documentation. You will be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and execution, and your contributions will directly impact the success and clarity of each project. This is an opportunity to work in a creative and technically rigorous environment where your modeling expertise will be both challenged and celebrated. Who We Are LVI Associates is representing a structural engineering firm that is deeply committed to the integration of structure and design. Based in a major metropolitan area, the firm partners with leading architects to deliver projects that are both technically sound and visually compelling. Their portfolio includes high-end custom residences, multi-story mass timber buildings, destination wineries, cultural institutions, and other architecturally ambitious structures across California, the Mountain West, and Hawaii. The firm is known for its collaborative approach, working closely with design teams to ensure that structural systems enhance rather than limit architectural vision. With over 15 years of experience using Revit for residential and commercial projects, the firm transitioned to a fully BIM-based workflow for all ground-up construction in 2017. This commitment to 3D modeling has allowed them to streamline coordination, reduce errors, and improve communication across disciplines. The team is composed of engineers who think like designers, and they are looking for a technician who shares their appreciation for architecture, detail, and innovation. If you are passionate about creating models that support and elevate design, this is a unique opportunity to join a firm that values both technical excellence and creative collaboration.

What You'll Do As a Structural CAD & BIM Technician, you will be responsible for producing and managing high-quality structural documentation using Revit and AutoCAD. You will work closely with engineers and architects to develop models that reflect both structural integrity and architectural intent. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed construction documents, developing structural details, and ensuring that all drawings are coordinated across disciplines. You will also assist in internal design reviews, contribute to the refinement of structural systems, and support the implementation of BIM standards and workflows. In addition to technical modeling, you will help develop custom Revit families and templates to improve efficiency and consistency across projects. You will manage multiple deadlines and deliverables, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of how structure and design interact. You will be part of a collaborative team that values your input and encourages continuous learning and growth. Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, design sensitivity, and collaborative spirit. Specific qualifications include: Minimum of 3 years of experience using Revit and AutoCAD in a structural or architectural setting. Strong understanding of structural systems and the ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings. Demonstrated experience producing construction documents for residential, commercial, or institutional buildings. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach. Familiarity with BIM coordination processes, clash detection tools, and Revit family creation is highly desirable. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a background in structural engineering is preferred but not required. Appreciation for architectural design and a desire to contribute to projects that push the boundaries of conventional engineering. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, design-driven environment and who takes pride in producing clear, coordinated, and visually compelling documentation.

Benefits The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional growth, personal well-being, and long-term career development. Benefits include: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Full coverage for employee medical, dental, and vision insurance. Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, including paid holidays and office closure days. Retirement plans including 401(k), profit sharing, and a cash balance plan. Support for continuing education, including reimbursement for courses, certifications, and professional development opportunities. Flexible work schedule and hybrid work environment to support work-life balance. A collaborative and inclusive team culture that values creativity, innovation, and mutual respect. Opportunities to work on unique, high-profile projects that challenge conventional thinking and elevate structural design.
