Position: Global Sourcing & Product Development Manager Location: Los Angeles Type: Full-time About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Global Sourcing & Product Development Manager with strong expertise in housewares. This role will manage the complete product journey—from concept and trend analysis to supplier negotiations and product launch—while focusing on the unique needs of the off-price retail market.
Key Responsibilities:
New Product Creation:
Drive the development of innovative housewares products informed by consumer insights, retailer feedback, and market research. Supplier Partnerships:
Source and manage suppliers in China, securing competitive costs, optimal MOQs, lead times, and quality standards. Product Line Strategy:
Use sales data and market intelligence to plan and forecast assortments that meet client goals and consumer demand. Off-Price Department Store Channel Expertise:
Develop product assortments tailored to off-price retailers like Ross, TJX, and Burlington, ensuring margin targets and packaging standards are met. Trend Research:
Stay ahead of emerging retail and design trends to inform product innovation and competitive positioning. Client Presentations:
Create professional product decks and sales materials aligned with specific client and retailer requirements. Cross-Functional Alignment:
Collaborate closely with design, packaging, logistics, and sales teams to keep projects on schedule from start to finish.
Qualifications:
5+ years in product development and/or sourcing within housewares or home goods Proven experience importing from China and managing vendor relationships Familiarity with off-price retail channels and value-based retailing Strong forecasting and assortment planning skills Proficiency with Excel, PLM tools, and sourcing platforms Exceptional negotiation, communication, and organizational abilities Mandarin language skills a plus Job Type: Full-time
