Job Details: Job Title- Materials Planner Location- Byhalia, MS 38611 (ONSITE) Duration- 6 Months - CONTRACT (Possible extension or permanent) Shift Hours- Monday - Friday (7:30AM - 4:30PM)
Responsibilities: Analyzes all factors leading to the execution of production schedule that includes shortages, capacity and delivery dates. Utilize and initiate improvements as determined necessary to current systems to determine daily level load of weekly schedule. Plan and release job information to Manufacturing via various signals (auto stock, contract folders, stock parts, etc.) to support the daily production schedules. Ensures that jobs released to build have material available and resource capacity through the Clear to Build process utilizing various systems (5REQ database, Contract Folder, Shop Load, etc.). Work closely with logistics and purchasing to ensure material is available for manufacturing Work closely with manufacturing to ensure timely completion of high profile and escalated jobs Communicates build sequence to manufacturing through daily schedule for jobs that have been determined are Clear to Build. Helps establish and monitor WIP buffers for identified areas. Audit as needed to ensure discipline to process. Audits to ensure correct inventory levels to support production. Ensures pull process is functioning smoothly. Follows-up with production schedules and helps establish metrics for schedule adherence. Provides daily reports on production schedules and materials status, which may include variance analysis. Provide work directions and training to lower-level production planners, expediters and data entry personnel in the form of priorities, schedules and/ or daily assignments. Communicates and coordinates with design level changes, part/material obsolescence, and new part introductions so the customer is receiving the correct materials. Maintains Factory Late reporting to ensure proper communication on job status Complies with safety, quality and environmental standards, procedures and instructions.
Required Knowledge or Skills: Three or more years’ experience in Production Control/Planning and/or Scheduling area within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access. Spreadsheet formulation, queries, v-lookup, advanced formatting techniques and etc. Possess extensive experience in working with integrated computer programs and/or applications. Possess very strong communication skills (verbal and written) along with sound interpersonal skills to all levels of organization. Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks and projects as needed. Must possess excellent problem solving and problem prevention skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook) required. Project Management experience a plus
Qualification Requirement: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant field required.
