We are a well-established construction company based in Dayton, Ohio, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Controller
to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who is ready to play a key role in managing the financial health of a growing organization.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets. Partner with leadership on strategic planning, job costing, and project profitability analysis. Provide guidance to accounting staff and oversee day-to-day financial operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required). 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Prior experience in the construction industry or related field strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficiency with accounting software (experience with construction-focused systems a plus). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
