About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled

MEP Coordinator

to join the mission critical project delivery team of our Client in Chicago. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on complex mission critical projects, including data centers and high-tech facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of MEP systems, maintaining schedule alignment, and safeguarding project quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities MEP Coordination:

Lead coordination between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection trades, ensuring clash-free installation and compliance with project design. Mission Critical Focus:

Oversee MEP scope delivery for mission critical facilities with strict uptime, redundancy, and cooling requirements. Technical Oversight:

Review shop drawings, submittals, and specifications to ensure constructability, code compliance, and alignment with project requirements. Scheduling & Logistics:

Support project scheduling, phasing, and sequencing of MEP systems to minimize risks to critical operations. Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and owners to resolve issues and maintain alignment with design intent. Quality & Safety:

Monitor field installation, enforce safety standards, and ensure adherence to QA/QC processes. Commissioning Support:

Assist in startup, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, with an emphasis on redundancy, reliability, and efficiency. Documentation:

Maintain accurate project records, RFIs, change orders, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering/Management (preferred) or equivalent field experience. 5+ years of experience in MEP coordination, with at least 2 years in mission critical/data center projects. Strong knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and commissioning. Proficiency in BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks) and project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar). Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, and other relevant codes/standards. Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and resolve field issues effectively. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
