Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set, including experience in various medical settings such as acute care, long-term care, and specialized treatments. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including those with developmental disabilities and chronic conditions.

Genie Healthcare is looking for a RN to work in Med Surg / Telemetry for a 13 weeks travel assignment located in Saratoga Springs, NY for the Shift (3x12hr days, 07:00:00-19:00:00

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusion and injections.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
• Educate patients and families on health management, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
• Assist in procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and wound care while ensuring aseptic technique is followed.
• Participate in emergency response situations as needed, utilizing critical care skills in high-pressure environments.
• Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide emotional support during challenging times.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum 3 years of experience and current New York State license required.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS).
• NIH Stroke Cert required.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Critical drip and CVA experience a plus
• At least one year current experience with telemetry population.
• NIH Stroke Cert required.
• Must have EPIC experience.
• Caregivers will be deployed from the Care Coordinator Center to where they are needed. Will spend time in ER for ER hold patients.
• Every other weekend/holiday.
• The caregiver will be required to take an ECG exam once they arrive at the facility
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Day shift 1:4-5, Night Shift 1:5-6 - 40 beds - The patient population is adult and geriatric - Types of services are provided for the medical/surgical inpatient, with a focus on patients requiring telemetry monitoring, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, critical drugs and critical drips. May also deal with patients in ER hold #R2
