Overview(DoD SkillBridge) Principal / Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer - R10207882RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: No relocation assistance availableTRAVEL: NoCLEARANCE TYPE: SecretNorthrop Grumman is offering a SkillBridge internship opportunity for transitioning service members to gain civilian work experience in an entry to mid-level engineering role within Space Systems. The program provides on-site experience with a 40-hour work week and is designed to support a potential transition to full-time employment after completion. SkillBridge participants continue to receive military compensation and benefits.The Space Systems Organization, Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD) and PGSD Remote Sensing Programs (RSP) develop, produce and sustain advanced space technologies. The team supports sensors, payloads, and spacecraft through on-site operations and integration.ResponsibilitiesSenior Electronics/EGSE design responsibilities for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used to checkout, integrate, and operate flight hardware during ground testing. Responsibilities include power, control, telemetry, safety interlocks, and cooling.Design and fabrication of EGSE test sets; contribute to a small EGSE design team across multiple programs.Panel & cable design, electrical interconnects & schematics, developing acceptance criteria & certification procedures, hardware checkout and troubleshooting.Root cause analysis, problem resolution, and documentation; interface with subsystem test engineers, technicians, operators, systems administrators, security, and vendors.Full design lifecycle from conception through fabrication and integration/testing.Basic Qualifications – Principal Electronics Engineer (Level 3)Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience; Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years; or Ph.D. with 0 years (as applicable).Proficient in hardware design including panel and/or cable design, schematic layouts, etc.Minimum 1 year of hardware design experience.Must be retiring or separating from the military within 1 year to be eligible.Active Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain/maintain Top-Secret clearance.U.S. Citizenship required.Basic Qualifications – Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer (Level 4)Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience; Master’s with 6 years; or Ph.D. with 3 years of related experience.Proficient in hardware design including panel and/or cable design, schematic layouts, etc.Minimum 2 years of hardware design experience.Must be retiring or separating from the military within 1 year to be eligible.Active Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain/maintain Top-Secret clearance.U.S. Citizenship required.Preferred QualificationsActive TS clearance.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hardware design.Proficient with integrated (analog, power, digital) hardware design.Proficient with lab test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.).Proficient with electrical design tools (e.g., Zuken, AutoCAD, PSpice).Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware.Proficient in Test Automation Software (LabVIEW, TCL, MATLAB).Compensation & BenefitsPrimary Level Salary Range: $105,400 - $158,000; Secondary Level Salary Range: $131,100 - $196,700. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives may apply. Benefits include health, life and disability insurance, savings plan, holidays, and PTO.
