Position OverviewWe're searching for a strategic and creative Content Director to elevate our brand and amplify our message.You're a writer at heart and a true "marketing athlete" with a deep understanding of how to craft compelling stories and cultivate thought leadership through writing, video, audio, social, speaking engagements, and events. You bring a strong background in content creation and distribution, ideally with experience in tech, startups, or similar fast-paced environments.You know what it takes to run a modern content ecosystem, and you’re deeply excited about the future of media. You also have a strong sense of - or are eager to learn - what resonates with startup founders.As a vital member of a high-impact team, you’ll develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that grow and differentiate our brand, speak to startup founders, support our portfolio companies, and drive engagement across owned, earned, and experiential channels.Skills & AttributesA true writer with a love for language and how words come together, both on the page and in conversationKeen interest in technology, startups, venture capitalDeep understanding of content strategy, traditional media, and distribution across multiple channelsExcitement about new media and eagerness to push the envelopeCollaborative partner with a “can-do” mindsetBias toward action and extreme attention to detailAdept at juggling multiple initiatives and meeting tight deadlinesAbility to provide clear, strategic direction to freelancers, creative agencies, and external partnersKey ResponsibilitiesContent Marketing & StorytellingLead the design of creative distribution strategies that maximize the impact of our marketing initiatives across established and emerging channels.Develop and create compelling content for the firm that speaks to our core audience of startup founders, published across our blog, social media, and newsletters.Collaborate closely with our editorial director, investors, and portfolio companies to develop founder stories, compelling case studies, and insightful investment theses.Prepare detailed interview guides for thought leaders, including thorough background research and insightful questions for podcasts, panel discussions, and events.Shape and direct creative briefs for external partners and freelancers, including videographers, photographers, designers, writers, and editors.Define and track metrics for all content marketing initiatives and use these insights to continuously refine your work..Events Strategy & Ecosystem EngagementDevelop creative marketing campaigns for events to maximize attendance, engagement, and brand visibility.Partner with our marketing coordinator and editorial director to design innovative ways to engage audiences through content before, during, and after events.Support the investment team with deck development and crafting impactful talking points for presentations.PR & CommunicationsCollaborate with our media relations team to shape marketing initiatives into compelling media pitches.Support the development of press releases, executive talking points, and broader executive communications.Work with the marketing partner and editorial director to ensure brand consistency and effective reputation management across all channels.Qualifications7+ years of experience as a writer or content-driven marketer, with a significant portion (ideally 5+ years) in a similar field.Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and effective content development and distribution.Deep understanding of and curiosity about the tech, startup, and innovation landscape.A confident, compassionate, and collaborative team player with proven experience working with multiple stakeholders.Proficiency with and excitement about the modern marketing stack, including AI tools, social media platforms, analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), and collaboration tools (e.g., Notion, Figma).Preferred QualificationsExisting relationships within the media, marketing, VC, and startup ecosystems.Experience supporting the brand and marketing needs of early-stage teams or startups.Background in B2B tech or emerging technologies (e.g., AI, fintech, crypto).Submit a cover letter, CV, and samples of your work as a single .pdf, .doc, or .docx attachment.
