Construction Estimator
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. This role is critical in helping the company bid competitively and manage project budgets effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to clarify scope and requirements.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project conditions.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data.
- Present estimates to management and clients with clear documentation and rationale.
- Monitor project costs and assist in change order pricing and negotiations.
- Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and construction methods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in construction estimating (commercial, residential, or industrial).
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00/yr.
