Building Structural Engineer – Project Manager

to step in, manage projects, and help mentor junior engineers. Role Overview This is a hands-on role for a technically proficient structural engineer who thrives on project ownership. You’ll manage building renovation and new construction projects from investigation to completion—analyzing existing structures, writing technical reports, designing in Revit/RAM/Risa, and guiding junior engineers. The role is designed to relieve workload from the group director and offers excellent visibility and growth potential. Responsibilities Manage renovation and new construction projects, from site investigations to final design Perform structural analysis of existing buildings, foundations, and equipment loads Prepare detailed technical reports with strong written documentation Provide design work using Revit, RAM, and Risa Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development Collaborate with major clients such as Boeing and Washington University School of Medicine Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 3–5+ years of structural engineering experience (not entry-level) EIT with clear path to PE, or recently licensed PE Strong technical proficiency in Revit, RAM, and Risa (hands-on design role) Experience with building renovations, repairs, and existing structure analysis Fall protection assessment/design experience is a plus Strong technical writing skills for detailed reports Clear desire to pursue SE licensure (key screening requirement) What We Offer Competitive salary ($85K–$120K) Hybrid work schedule (up to 3 days/week remote; local presence required for site work) Relocation assistance for the right candidate 100% employee ownership through ESOP (share price jumped $20 last year) 401(k) with 3% Safe Harbor contribution, in addition to ESOP Company pays 75% of health insurance premiums (employee-only through full family) Negotiable PTO, with credit for up to 10 years of prior experience A collaborative environment with direct access to leadership and technical experts Who Thrives Here This role is perfect for a motivated engineer who is technically strong, proactive, and ready to manage projects independently.
