Job Description : JOB SUMMARY This job directs and manages Operational Excellence programs, providing oversight and guidance for the portfolio of programs and projects designed to improve operational deficiencies. The incumbent will work collaboratively with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams, locations and departments to improve operational practices. Designs, implements and executes strategies and works with cross-functional clinical, pharmaceutical, operations, IT and performance management improvement teams to ensure overall goals of the organization are met and to optimize outcomes. Leads a team of agile coaches, process designers, and program managers who interact with the business to ideate and implement efficiencies. This role requires a strong leader who can plan and execute components of a strategy, including advanced problem solving, learning-gap assessment, capturing initiative value, and change management to realize value. The incumbent will employ Six Sigma and Agile-like tools and disciplines.

Perform management responsibilities including hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs; may have budgetary responsibility and authority. Provide direct coaching to the executive leadership team on agile and operational effectiveness in partnership with the enterprise effectiveness team, attending leadership meetings to present progress, influence direction, and obtain strategic direction. Partner with all levels of management to assemble project teams and work groups to produce deliverables required to achieve project/program objectives. Work closely with Enterprise Effectiveness, Project Management and Change Office, HMHS, Advanced Analytics, and business owners to drive operational efficiencies. Manage the Operational Excellence department. Develop the roadmap and priorities, define the business engagement model, and execute and deliver identified operational improvement initiatives. Align with Enterprise Effectiveness for accountability and consistency. Lead analyses of enterprise-wide practices to identify improvement opportunities. Assess current processes and implement performance improvement programs. Manage key initiatives through a disciplined, customer-focused program management approach; identify and resolve issues. Deliver core principles using Six Sigma and Agile delivery. Other duties as assigned or requested.
Education
Required
— Bachelor’s Degree Substitutions
— 6 years of experience in an operational excellence role Preferred
— Master’s Degree in Operational Excellence, Business Administration/Management, or Clinical Programs
Experience
Minimum
— 10 years in Project Management; 5 years in Healthcare; 5 years in a Leadership role; 7 years using Lean/Six Sigma or related disciplines Preferred
— Direct Lean Six Sigma experience across areas such as reducing variation, root cause analysis and corrective action, standardization, quality management, performance management, KPI/OKR systems, etc.

Pay
Pay Range Minimum:
$126,400.00 Pay Range Maximum:
$236,000.00 Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The salary range does not reflect geographic differentials Highmark may apply for certain locations.
