Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Progressive Care Nurse to join our healthcare team for a PCU OVERFLOW UNIT; Ratios 5-6.
Shift: 12hr Nights X 4 -This role involves providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to best practices in nursing.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting, focusing on those with acute and chronic health conditions.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions regularly to identify any changes or complications.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions and acute pain management.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options, health management, and recovery processes.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic for patient data management.
- Participate in discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care post-hospitalization.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in nursing practices.
Requirements
- Current nursing license valid in the state of practice.
- 2 Years PCU experience required
- BLS & ACLS required.
- Epic Experience
- MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO FLOATING AS REQUIRED-WILL FLOAT OUT TO SISTER CAMPUSES
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and documentation standards is essential.
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and basic life support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Proficient in using EMR systems
