About The Position Knoxville, Tennessee Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens

Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physicians
for a long-term locum assignment in Knoxville, Tennessee. This high-volume pediatric emergency department offers flexible scheduling across days, nights, and swing shifts, supported by a collaborative team of physicians and APPs.
Assignment Highlights
Location:
Knoxville, Tennessee
Specialty:
Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Start Date:
December 31, 2025 – Ongoing (6+ months)
Shifts:
Day, Night, and Swing shifts available
Shift Volume:
10–25 shifts per month (including weekdays, weekends, and holidays)
Annual ED Volume:
~50,400 visits (~1 patient per hour)
Hospital Beds:
126 |
ED Beds:
36
Staffing Model:
MDs and APPs (APP supervision required)
EMR:
Meditech
Privileges:
Temporary privileges available (~30 days)
Clinical Scope / Responsibilities
Full-spectrum pediatric emergency medicine care across acuity levels
Stabilize and manage pediatric patients presenting to the ED
Collaborate with APPs for efficient patient flow and quality outcomes
EM team responds to codes
Trauma: CRCP with trauma responsibilities (not a trauma center)
Candidate Requirements
Board Certification:
ABEM – PEM required (must be PEM)
Licensure:
Active Tennessee license (pending license accepted)
Certifications:
PALS required
Experience:
1–10+ years EM/Pediatric EM experience considered
Skills:
Proficiency in pediatric emergency medicine; comfortable supervising APPs
