Overview

A leading global architecture and engineering firm with over 100 years of legacy is seeking a Project Manager for their following offices: Los Angeles, Omaha, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Dallas, Washington D.C., Miami, West Palm Beach, or Las Vegas. This established firm specializes in transformative design across multiple sectors, with offices strategically located throughout the United States. Their portfolio encompasses federal, healthcare, aviation, education, and commercial projects, delivered through integrated architecture, engineering, and interior design services.

The Federal Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing design contracts for United States Federal Government projects, with a strong emphasis on Department of Defense entities including the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, and National Guard.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead project execution on both small minor capital improvements and large, complex federal initiatives. Demonstrate expertise with federal design and construction standards, including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specification (UFGS/SpecsIntact), and DoD Installation Design Standards. Ensure projects adhere to established budgets, financial guidelines, and contractual requirements. Provide technical guidance and leadership to multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with sector leaders and operations management to define project goals, standards, and procedures. Conduct and facilitate internal team meetings and consultant coordination to guarantee construction documentation is compliant with codes, standards, and scope. Oversee pre-design activities such as DoD planning, programming, feasibility studies, facility condition assessments, site selection, and cost analysis. Prepare and present oral and written reports to clients and stakeholders, explaining proposals and project findings. Lead code compliance reviews with government and regulatory agencies. Support performance oversight related to design quality, financial outcomes, and strategic objectives. Monitor and review technical documentation for consistency with government and organizational policies and standards. Participate in cross-disciplinary project discussions and coordination to enhance project outcomes. Coordinate the work of professionals and technical staff and foster a collaborative team environment. Exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills, adapting standard techniques and procedures to resolve project challenges. May require travel for project-related activities.

Requirements: Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management is required. Minimum 8 years of related professional experience; project management experience preferred. Professional certification(s) such as Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect, or Construction Manager Certification (CCM) desirable. Strong communication skills in graphic, verbal, and written forms. Positive, team-focused attitude, with experience mentoring and coordinating across disciplines. In-depth knowledge of general architectural and engineering design and construction practices. Familiarity with project progression from initial concept to completion. Position may require travel for project-related activities The studio operates on a flexible hybrid schedule with three days in their collaborative office environment and two days working remotely, offering an ideal balance between in-person collaboration and remote flexibility.
