Job Title: Technical Lab - Medical Technologist I Work Location: Gaithersburg MD 20877 Pay : $60 to $70/hr Shift:

12a-8:30a, Tuesday- Saturday. -Third shift EST Contract: 3 Months + possible Extension State of Credentials Licenses Required :

Maryland Duties and Responsibilities: Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining patient test result records. Maintain documentation demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are handled identically to patient specimens. Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures (refer to departmental SOPs). Review and release test results. Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations. Adhere to quality control policies, documenting all QC activities, instrument/procedure calibrations, and maintenance. Follow protocols when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels. Identify and address issues that may impact test performance or results; notify senior technologist or supervisor as needed. Document all corrective actions taken for deviations from performance specifications. Follow departmental procedures for reporting STAT or critical results to clients. (If applicable) Respond to customer or lab personnel inquiries. Maintain thorough records of all on-site testing. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure all reagents/test kits are properly labeled with received, expiration, and (if applicable) opened dates. Review and train on new procedures as required. Attend monthly departmental and additional training/educational meetings. Participate in all required safety training. Understand the safety manual and use of safety equipment. Participate in government or regulatory inspections, if required. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Note: This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities but a general outline of the role. Qualifications: Education: BS in Medical Technology, or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (as of March 14, 1990). Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing preferred. Candidates with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology must have at least 1 year of high-complexity lab experience. Other Requirements: Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills; may require interaction with clients. Strong customer service orientation. Must uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
