Position: Warehouse Associate
In the position as Warehouse Associate, the successful candidate will be based in our Davie, FL office. The daily basic duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Receiving and Inspecting Materials
- Unload heavy materials (refractory, pails, bags) from trucks safely
- Verify quantity and quality of received items
- Record and report discrepancies or damages
Handling and Storing Heavy Materials
- Label and store items in proper locations
- Safely lift and move pails and materials over 40 lbs.
- Heavy lifting of masonry bricks and refractory materials
- Store refractory materials and tools in designated areas
- Maintain organized and easily accessible storage spaces
Order Picking and Packing
- Pick items accurately according to order sheets
- Pack goods securely for delivery or shipping
- Attach appropriate labels and shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, MSDS, etc.)
Material Preparation
- Prepare refractory materials and organize tools for upcoming projects
- Pre-stage materials for outgoing deliveries or scheduled work
- Use basic tools and PPE to handle abrasive or hazardous materials safely
Inventory Control
- Maintains warehouse stock and ensures correct organization and labelling of inventory
Warehouse Cleanliness and Safety
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors
Tool Management
- Receive, track, and issue tools used in refractory work
- Inspect tools for wear or damage and report issues
- Keep tool and equipment areas clean and organized
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Perform basic maintenance and safety checks on equipment
- Ensure proper use of all tools and machinery
Loading and Transporting Heavy Materials
- Load company truck with heavy pails and materials
- Secure loads properly to prevent movement or damage during transport
Customer Delivery
- Deliver goods to vendor or warehouse sites in a professional and timely manner
- Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery (POD)
- Handle materials with care during loading, transport, and unloading
Vehicle Maintenance
- Keep delivery vehicles clean, fueled, and presentable
- Log vehicle usage in the designated form each time the company truck is used
Experience & Qualifications
- A minimum 2+ years direct experience with warehouse and shipping
- Forklift operator training required upon hiring, experience preferred
- Must be fluent in English both verbal and written
- Fluency in Spanish both verbal and written considered an asset
- Must be fluent in the use of Microsoft office programs including word, excel and outlook
- Ability to work weekends and modified hours schedules for deliveries
- Driver’s license and valid passport required, valid port entry credentials preferred (TWIC, Port ID)
- Must be a problem solver
- Knowledge of and ability to work with hand tools is an asset
- Knowledge of shipping, handling and shipping documentation of hazmat chemicals is an asset
- Experience working in marine industry or with cruise ships logistics is an asset
- Must be able to handle use of hand jack, heavy lifting, and handling masonry and equipment
- Must be familiar with picking, packing, strapping, labeling and handling pallets
