Summary/Objective We seek a motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician with specialized plumbing expertise to join our team. This vital role supports the maintenance and functionality of our multi-family and commercial properties throughout Greater Boston. The ideal candidate will address plumbing and perform general maintenance tasks, ensuring residents' and clients' optimal living and working conditions. Responsibilities include handling daily work orders, unit turnovers, preventative maintenance, and participating in our 24-hour on-call rotation.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, hourly position with standard work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexibility for overtime and participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation is required, including availability during evenings and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to plumbing, work orders, and general maintenance requests. Diagnose and address maintenance issues, including repairing leaks, clearing clogs, resolving heating and cooling malfunctions, replacing fixtures, and performing general repairs such as drywall patching, door adjustments, and other maintenance tasks. Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance on plumbing to ensure all components operate efficiently and meet safety standards. Document findings during property inspections and communicate effectively with the office team regarding maintenance needs and system performance. Assess and prepare vacated apartments for new occupants, including general maintenance, cleaning, and painting. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards as well as industry codes. Provide snow removal, salting, and sanding services as needed during winter months.

General Requirements Proven hands-on experience as a maintenance technician with strong plumbing expertise in residential or commercial environments. In-depth knowledge of plumbing, including pipes, fixtures, systems, and installation and repair. Familiarity with general maintenance principles and techniques. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant certifications in plumbing are preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Basic toolbox equipped for general maintenance needs. Proficient in texting and emailing, including the ability to send photos and attachments.

Physical Requirements Ability to perform extensive physical tasks and maintain excellent physical condition. Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs safely and maneuvering equipment for repairs. Comfortable using plumbing tools and equipment required for installations and servicing. Ability to kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl to accomplish plumbing maintenance tasks. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is a must.
