About The Position We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Alaska, starting on Dec 14, 2025. This role involves day shifts, Monday through Friday, with additional weeknight and weekend on-call duties. The position requires assessing patients in a fast-paced environment, ideal for practitioners comfortable handling varying case loads through different seasons.

Family Nurse Practitioner Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM; On Call during weeknights and weekends

Responsibilities and Duties Assess patient health by interviewing patients; perform physical examinations; obtain, update, and study medical histories. Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections. Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance. Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Additional Information Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Must possess Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) Must be licensed in the state of Alaska Experience: At least 2 years, preferably with experience in being the sole provider EMR Used: Cerner
