(Paid/22.5 usd per hour) About Us NextGen Tides is a fast-growing biotech startup focused on custom oligonucleotide synthesis and advanced drug delivery platforms, including ASO, PMO, siRNA, peptide conjugates, and Antibody-Oligonucleotide Conjugates (AOCs). We are building a next-generation CRO offering specialized services to support cutting-edge research and therapeutic development. Position Summary We’re looking for a highly motivated Research Intern to join our scientific team. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain deep exposure to the
entire process of oligonucleotide and AOC development
—from design and synthesis to purification, characterization, and conjugation. You’ll work alongside experienced scientists and learn industry-relevant skills in a fast-paced, startup environment. What You'll Do Assist with oligonucleotide synthesis using automated synthesizers (e.g., M48). Support purification (HPLC, LCMS) and analytical characterization (UV-Vis, gel, etc.). Participate in conjugation processes including peptide and AOC development. Help with buffer prep, reagent handling, and lab organization. Document experimental protocols, results, and observations. Collaborate on optimizing workflows and troubleshooting technical issues. Attend lab meetings and cross-functional discussions for broader exposure. What You’ll Learn Full oligonucleotide workflow: synthesis → purification → QC → formulation. Peptide and linker conjugation strategies. Emerging AOC development pipeline and conjugation techniques. Insight into real CRO operations and client-driven project cycles. Exposure to regulatory, quality, and operational aspects of a biotech startup. Requirements Undergraduate or graduate student in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field. Basic lab experience preferred (e.g., pipetting, working with chemicals). Eagerness to learn and strong attention to detail. Able to commit minimum (20) hours/week on-site or hybrid. Nice to Have Prior coursework or experience with nucleic acids, organic chemistry, or analytical instruments. Familiarity with Excel, ELNs, or basic lab software.
