Assistant General Counsel

with strong transactional and drafting skills to provide legal support across both business lines, with a particular focus on

leasing

,

growth-oriented transactions

, and

ongoing operational needs

. Position Overview: Reporting to the General Counsel, the

Assistant General Counsel

will provide hands-on legal support for real estate transactions and the company's retail operations. The ideal candidate will have

strong experience in leasing and drafting

, with the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders across all departments, external counsel, and business partners to manage deal flow and support company expansion. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful legal matters in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities: Draft and negotiate leases, lease amendments, operating agreements, joint venture agreements, and related documents (e.g., SNDAs, estoppels, waivers, and terminations), including retail leases for new locations. Provide legal support for acquisitions, dispositions and financings, including due diligence, contract drafting, and coordination with internal teams and external parties. Review and advise on LOIs, ensuring alignment with strategic growth initiatives. Support business and operations teams in expansion planning, vendor and service contracts, equipment leases, and day-to-day operational issues. Maintain awareness of lease terms and key obligations, supporting development, asset management, and operations teams throughout the transaction lifecycle. Experience assisting with insurance claims, litigation oversight, and tenant issues. Experience managing transactions from term sheet to post-closing preferred, but not required. Experience managing and implementing legal tech solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiency strongly preferred. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD)

from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in New York. 4–6 years of legal experience

, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department. Strong experience in

leasing and transactional drafting

is required. Demonstrated ability to manage real estate transactions or retail deals

from start to finish

preferred, but not required. Familiarity with

Ironclad

or similar legal tech and/or contract lifecycle management platforms is strongly preferred. Excellent judgment, business-sense, communication, and interpersonal skills.
