Technical Consultant
Location: Burlington, MA / REMOTE (EST)
Duration: 6-12 months contract
Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services Consulting, the Technical Consultant will play a pivotal role in driving the successful implementation and optimization of healthcare claims software solutions for our clients. This role requires an understanding of healthcare claims processes, project organization skills, excellent relationship management, and consulting expertise. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex software projects, accurately forecasting and scheduling business deliverables to meet project timelines.
The Technical Consultant performs client-facing consulting and delivery of technical tasks associated with the implementation and support of the HealthRules products. This will include participating in client discovery, facilitating client sessions, triaging implementation issues, forecasting and scheduling the technical deliverables, and testing complex interfaces. In this role, you will partner with customers to define implementation of groups of business processes and coordinate delivery across all project team functions.

Lead and manage technical aspects of assigned technical workstreams ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines. Client Engagement:
Serve as a point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. Solution Design:
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and design tailored solutions that meet their requirements around data conversion, reporting, correspondence, Connector web services, data extracts, third party integrations, and cross product integrations. Team Guidance:
Provide guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery. Provides training and mentorship to other team members. Risk Management:
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Monitor and manage the risks through the project to ensure successful outcomes. Change Management : Execute change management plans. Ability to train and support clients through transitions. Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with healthcare industry trends, technology and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to improve our implementation processes. Actively participate in initiatives to improve internal processes, tools and methodologies.
Customer consultation Support the assessment of the client's current systems, data sources, interfaces, trading partners and processes. This will include participating in recommendations based on the current-state assessment. Coordinate and lead activities with customer and third-party vendors Capture business requirements for integrations and extracts as required by the implementation Consult on set-up and testing of data transformation to meet HealthRules specifications. Consult on optimization and troubleshooting HealthRules web services Aid clients with capturing defects, performing initial triage, tracking and re-testing remediation Be prescriptive in consultation of recommendations in requirements and solutions, while always maintaining a customer-centric mentality Leads data migration planning with client and other readiness technical task
Knowledge and thought leader in Consulting Services Subject Matter Expert in (1-2) workstreams Participates in process optimization efforts within the Consulting Services organization and across functional areas. Create and maintain role-specific documentation and training materials Perform all job functions consistent with client policies and procedures, including those which govern the handling of PHI and PII Contribute to the creation and maintenance of playbooks
Execution of technical tasks Support the development team with participation in detailed designs/grooming sessions, test data creation, and functional testing tasks Execute standardized data conversion, import and export processes. Work with client to address exceptions and report progress Execute and support systems and partner integration, testing, reports and correspondence implementation and testing
Technical Project Management Supports the estimation of technical tasks within the implementation statement of work Advises project leadership on technical resource forecasting for assigned tasks. Maintain delivery timeline and quality attributes Works technical backlog, including issues and requirements, within assigned project(s). Supports completion of the technical transition to support artifacts What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in related field At least 2-4 years of experience in the health insurance industry. At least 2 years of progressive experience with requirements gathering and analysis for enterprise applications, preferably in health insurance. Excellent analysis, consulting and communication skills. Experience in customer-facing roles on professional services engagements. Experience working on the Linux operating system. Experience in requirements gathering, facilitating client sessions, triaging of implementation issues, and testing complex interfaces. Experience working with complex data analysis and data migrations, including source to target data mapping, transformation, transport, and results reconciliation. Some hands-on experience using databases and scripting languages. Prior experience with system conversion related projects and enterprise integration tools. Experience working on projects using Scrum or other agile processes. Experience testing complex interfaces is preferred, with tools like SoapUI. Excellent knowledge of the HIPAA EDI frameworks. Strong knowledge of customer, Payor industry business practices, and value offerings. Ability to work under pressure and conflict resolution Ability to deal with ambiguity while guiding customer
