The Opportunity They are seeking an experienced

In-House Counsel

to lead legal, contract, and risk management functions. This is a high-impact, on-site role based in Clear Lake (Houston area), with flexibility to work from a satellite office if located further north. The position offers direct collaboration with executive leadership and project teams, playing a key role in shaping legal strategy and ensuring compliance across all operations.

Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements Manage legal claims, disputes, and outside counsel relationships Oversee insurance and bonding processes, including audits, builder's risk coverage, and credit applications Ensure subcontractor compliance with insurance and risk standards Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies based on project trends and historical data Maintain legal records, approve invoices, and support vendor onboarding and documentation

Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Licensed to practice law in Texas (preferred) Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in construction law, contracts, insurance, and risk management Strong understanding of construction safety regulations, bonding, and compliance requirements Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills Collaborative mindset with a strategic approach to legal and business challenges
