Merchandising Manager – Food Packaging Pennsauken, NJ Fully On-Site M–F, ~8:00 AM–5:00 PM Role Overview We're seeking a Merchandising Manager to drive sourcing, merchandising, and supplier strategy for flexible food packaging categories. This role is highly collaborative, supporting sales teams and Food Packaging Specialists with the right product, pricing, and supplier programs, while ensuring strong margin performance and reliable supply. Unlike procurement roles, this position is not responsible for PO execution or administrative buying, but instead focuses on category development, sourcing new solutions, and supplier negotiations. Key Focus Areas Category Expertise (Flexible Packaging):

Core product lines include shrink bags, thermoforming films, thermobag films, and other flexible food packaging. Knowledge of rigid packaging is a plus, but can be taught. Supplier Engagement:

Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships; source the right products at the right terms to meet customer needs. Support for Sales & Specialists:

Work closely with Food Packaging Specialists and salespeople to provide product solutions, pricing guidance, and category expertise. Strategic Merchandising:

Maintain national product assortments, align offerings across regions, and develop pricing structures that protect margins. What were looking for Background:

Experience in food packaging or foodservice distribution is highly preferred (companies like Bunzl, Imperial Dade, or similar). Broader distribution knowledge is valuable. Level of Experience:

1+ years of experience Skills:

Strong negotiation, supplier management, and category/merchandising experience. Customer-facing experience is useful, but this role is mostly internal-facing (sales, specialists, and cross-functional teams). Systems:

Comfort with ERP/MRP systems and data analysis (Power BI, Excel, Amtech/Encore experience is a plus).
