Construction Estimator

with expertise in

OSP (Outside Plant), data center, and underground utility projects

to join our Sterling, VA team. In this role, you will prepare accurate cost estimates, assemble competitive bid proposals, and support strategic decision-making for complex construction projects. This position offers a mix of office-based work (90%) and occasional field visits (10%) to project sites within a 60-minute radius. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are executed efficiently, accurately, and on budget. High attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and effective communication are critical for success in this role. Key Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed estimates from takeoffs and vendor/subcontractor pricing. Review project specifications, drawings, and scopes for completeness and accuracy. Attend pre-bid meetings to clarify project requirements and assess potential risks. Research, negotiate, and prepare purchase orders and subcontracts for awarded projects. Participate in pre-job planning with project management teams. Conduct site visits to evaluate current and potential project opportunities. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for estimating best practices and knowledge sharing. Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success. Qualifications Minimum

5 years of construction estimating experience

in telecom, electrical, OSP, pipeline, or water/sewer projects. Strong experience with

data center projects

and

geotechnical considerations

. Bachelor’s degree in

Engineering (Civil preferred) or Construction Management

strongly preferred. Advanced candidates with

10+ years of experience

may be considered for a senior or lead role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Proven ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with

Microsoft Office Suite

(Excel, Word, Outlook) and general familiarity with estimating/takeoff software.
